FAT TUESDAY FAT QUARTER SALE
$2.00...$2.00...$2.00....
Folks, in my very humble opinion (and you all know by now how humble a guy I am!) the women in my life are going crazy. Beginning on Thursday,
February 11 and ending on Saturday, February 13, every single fat quarter in the shop will be priced at $2.00 per fat
quarter, regardless of its regular price. Yea, I know, we have some fat quarters that regularly sell for $2.50 and that's only a 20% sale. But, give me a break, our $3.25 regularly priced fat quarters will also be sold for $2.00. I am not about about to figure out the percentage of that discount, as I might become suicidal.
I am told by Diane that every single bolt of fabric in the shop has pre-cut fat quarters associated with it. Frankly, I believe it, as my carpal tunnel syndrome is really giving me problems these days--no, try as you might, you will not be able to tell which ones I folded!
So, give the ladies of my life something to do---cut and fold fat quarters to replace what you buy--- while Renee and I are in California next week ---yes, I booked the trip and my wife and daughter are absolutely worshiping me. That way, when the cat's away the mice will not have time to play!
LONG ARM QUILTING
If you are at the shop on Saturday afternoon helping us to reduce our stash of fat quarters, you will also have the opportunity to meet one of Acadiana's newest long arm quilters, Jessie Comeaux of Morning Star Quilted Creations. Jessie, who is from Grosse Tete (even though that is on the east side of the Atchafalya Basin, since it has a French name, we'll let it into Acadiana) will have samples of her work for you to view. Although a stitch is a stitch is a stitch to me, Renee tells me I am full of malarky and that Jessie's stitches and designs are pretty cool. Her specialty is edge to edge quilting using a variety of beautiful pantograms and all-over hand-guided meandering. As her representative here in Lafayette, The Borne Quilter has copies of her available designs as well as quilted samples showcasing her designs, threads, and workmanship. All you have to do is choose a design, fill out the order form with your specifications, and drop off your quilt top - we, and Jessie, will take care of the rest. So, take a break from your fat-quarter frenzy to sit down, chat with Jessie, and preview her work.

I know, this newsletter/update was pretty boring. Sorry about that....maybe next time....
