Let us help you answer that question by enrolling in one of our beginning quilt classes, where you will learn everything from why (and how) one would want to take a perfectly wonderful piece of 100% fine cotton fabric, cut it to pieces, and then reassemble it into your very own masterpiece.

Already know that you were “Borne to Quilt” but looking for a jump start to those creative juices? Have we got the answer for you! “Sew + Quilt = Create! Join one of our intermediate or advanced classes to expand your horizons.

Oh, by the way, if you do not know how to thread a needle or have never heard of a bobbin, we can solve that problem, too, with our beginning sewing class – that’s right, sewing, not quilting.

Skill Classes

Beginning Machine Piecing--$75 for 5 sessions

 In this class Denise Domingue will teach you the basics of piecing a quilt top using your sewing machine.  At the end of the 5 sessions you will know how to use a rotary cutter, acrylic ruler, accurately piece blocks, and complete the quilt top you have made.

Intermediate Machine Piecing--$60 for 4 sessions

In this class Denise Domingue will continue to improve your skills of machine piecing.  At the end of the 4 sessions you will know how to construct quarter square triangle units, accurately construct a mitered corner, sew a partial seam, make and use templates for block construction.

Advanced Machine Piecing--$60 for 4 sessions

Denise Domingue will continue to improve your piecing skills by teaching you how to easily make a block with curved seams, foundation paper piece, needle turn and fusible appliqué, English paper piecing and how to make yo-yo flowers.

Binding Basics - $15 for 1 session

Is your quilt ready to be used except for the binding?  Come and join Denise Domingue and learn the basics of binding construction and applications. In this class you will learn how to make bias binding, continuous bias binding, straight of the grain binding, applying binding to your quilt, mitered corners, and how to invisibly join the ends of the binding.

Let’s Learn to Foundation Piece a Single Scoop Crib Quilt - $15 for 1 session

Have you always wanted to learn the basics of foundation piecing but were afraid of all those small pieces?  Well then this class is for you!  Denise Domingue will teach you how to make the quick and easy ice cream block.  This quilt will make an adorable wall hanging or crib quilt.

Times: Morning 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Afternoon 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. or Evenings 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Back Basting Appliqué -$20 for 1 session

 Taught by Diane Redfearn, this is a preparation method for doing Needle Turn Appliqué - no templates, no freezer paper, no overlays!!!!  It sounds corny, but it really will change your life – your time will be spent sewing – not prepping!! If you have wanted to try appliqué or have struggled with it before – give it another chance.

English Paper Piecing $15 for 1 session

Join Diane Redfearn and learn this traditional hand piecing methods.  This is one of the portable techniques you can do!  Pre-cut squares of fabric and the only tools you need are Hexie papers, scissors, needle and thread.

Flying Geese $25.00 for 1 session

In this technique class, Diane Redfearn will teach you how to construct the traditional flying geese unit 5 different ways. You are sure to discover the right construction technique for perfect flying geese every time!

Project Classes 

These fast and fun classes feature quick and easy projects that you can make and take home with you in one afternoon.  Great holiday, or any day, gift ideas!

 

3–Dimensional Bowtie Block Quilt - $15 for 1 session

Like the look of the bowtie block but hate to sew set in seams...then this is the quilt for you.  Grab your scraps and join Denise Domingue in making this unique 3-Dimensional quilt.  The blocks can be sewn either by hand or machine.  Perfect take along project if you sew these by hand.  Several different layouts will be included in the instructions.

Strips and Strings Quilt As You Go - $35 for 1 session

Don’t know what to do with all those left over strips of fabric?  Let’s turn them into a beautiful quilt top that will be stitched and quilted at the same time! Curious?  Join Denise Domingue and learn this fast and fun technique.

Grab up 16 fat quarters and join Denise Domingue to learn how to turn them into a beautiful Fat Quarter Baskets Quilt. These no appliqué baskets set on the diagaonal are quick and easy to construct.

Grab all your 2” strips and join Denise Domingue to learn how to turn them into a beautiful quilt. The rail fence block set on the diagonal and the piano key border give this quilt a unique look.
