Let us help you answer that question by enrolling in one of our beginning quilt classes, where you will learn everything from why (and how) one would want to take a perfectly wonderful piece of 100% fine cotton fabric, cut it to pieces, and then reassemble it into your very own masterpiece.

Oh, by the way, if you do not know how to thread a needle or have never heard of a bobbin, we can solve that problem, too, with our beginning sewing class – that’s right, sewing, not quilting.

SKILLS CLASSES
Handi Quilter Longarm Training--$45 for 1 session
Each two and one half hour class, taught by Renee Borne, will include printed information, instruction and application, plus a one-hour practice session to be scheduled at a later time using your own fabric and batting. Here is the schedule of classes over the next 4 months:
Once trained, you will be eligible to rent time on our Handi Quilter Avante 18 Long Arm Quilting Machine. The maximum number of students per class is three, so if you want to take it with a friend or two, please coordinate that before calling to schedule.
Beginning Machine Piecing--$75 for 5 sessions
In this class Denise Domingue will teach you the basics of piecing a quilt top using your sewing machine. At the end of the 5 sessions you will know how to use a rotary cutter, acrylic ruler, accurately piece blocks, and complete the quilt top you have made.

Back Basting Applique--$20 for 1 session
Taught by Diane Redfearn, this is a preparation method for doing Needle Turn Appliqué - no templates, no freezer paper, no overlays!!!! It sounds corny, but it really will change your life – your time will be spent sewing – not prepping!!
Let Renee Borne teach you how to use your home sewing machine to do basic straight-line quilting with a walking foot and basic free-motion quilting.
Machine Applique--$30 for 1 session
Renee Borne will teach you how to use your home sewing machine to do beautiful applique using the special stitches on your machine.
English Paper Piecing--$15 for 1 session
Diane Redfearn teaches this time-honored technique using modern paper inserts to make perfect hexagons, the building blocks of the traditional Grandmother's Flower Garden block.
Basic Hand Embroidery for Quilters--$15.00 for 1 session
Expand your creativity and embellish! Learn the four basic embroidery stitches quilters use most from Janie Eschete - outline, back and blanket stitches, plus French knots.

Batting Buddy String Piecing--$25 for 1 session
Learn a quick and easy method for creating a fun string-pieced quilt form blocks that are stitched and quilted at the same time! Curious? Join Diane Redfearn and learn this fast and fun technique.
Flip Flap Bag or E-Reader Bag--$25 for 1 session
Quite often the biggest problem with the Flying Geese block is cutting off the point. Well, that’s easy to fix and Diane will show you how while making a beautiful table runner.
Fun With Yo-Yo's--$15.00 for 1 session
Yo-yos are an easy to make take along project. Denise Domingue will show you how to make yo-yos using both the traditional method and using a yo-yo make. Patterns for several quick gifts, decorations, and wearables will be given during the class.

To Tie For – Need a quick outfit for the special little lady in your life? Denise Domingue will help you make this adorable quick and easy dress/jumper and top with matching headband. These reversible outfits tie at the shoulders to help create a perfect fit while making it easy to get on and off.

Easy Curves – No need to be afraid of curve seams with this quick and easy to make dress/top. The curvy edges of the “pieces” use coordinating purchased or custom-made bias binding trim. Shoulders button for an easy fit.
Pillowcase Dress --$30.00
Let Denise Domingue teach you how to turn a vintage pillowcase, a border print fabric or a self made pillowcase into an adorable dress or jumper for the little lady in your life.

Pinwheel Placemats - Half Square Triangles--$25 for 1 session
In this class you will be shown several different methods to make Half-square Triangles and you are sure to find the one that works the best for you. With the help of Diane Redfearn, you will be able to complete a set of great placemats.
Sew Easy Pineapple--$15 for 1 session
Denise Domingue will show you how to start with a fabric square and keep on adding more squares until your pineapple explodes in wonderful variations of color. With no fabric wastage no matching points, no paper piecing and no strange angles to cut, it's fun to sew!!!
