I heard the news today at the shop that the Corps of Engineers had decided to begin opening the Morganza Spillway bays this afternoon at 3:00 pm CDT.  My thoughts ran immediately to all of our friends who will undoubtedly be affected by this event, especially those in the Krotz Springs to Morgan City corridor.  Over the past few days the meteorologists have been reporting the projected flood levels should the Morganza floodgates be opened and my heart sank.  Now that the painstaking process has begun I can't help but wonder how those in the affected areas will weather this event.  All of us at The Borne Quilter are thinking of you all tonight and pray that in the next few days and weeks you will be spared the worst of the flooding.  Bon courage mes amis!
